Introduction
EBEM, which is short for « Energiebedrijf Merksplas », is a Belgian energy supply company. It was established in 2003, following the liberalization of the energy market in Belgium and is a public limited company.
The history of EBEM is closely linked to that of the municipality of Merksplas in the province of Antwerp. The municipality owns the Merksplas power station, which is the main source of energy for EBEM.
It was in 2004 that EBEM began supplying electricity and natural gas to individuals and businesses in the region.
Over the years, EBEM has expanded its business and service offerings. It now offers a complete range of energy products and services such as electricity, natural gas, heating, air conditioning, and renewable energy.
In 2023, EBEM provides energy to over 100,000 customers in Belgium and is also a significant player in the renewable energy market in Belgium.
