DRIES MERTENS is a Belgian footballer born in Louvain on May 6, 1987. He started playing football at the K Stade Louvain at the age of 10.
He continued his training at RSC Anderlecht with his friend Denis Odoi. But due to his small stature and uncertain future, he chose to train at KAA La Gantoise.
It was in 2005 at FC Bruges that DRIES MERTENS began his professional career. He played 2 seasons there, then joined PSV Eindhoven for 3 seasons. In 2008, he won the Dutch championship
In 2013, DRIES MERTENS joined SSC Naples for 9 seasons. During these 9 seasons at SSC Naples, DRIES MERTENS became the top scorer of the club, having scored 148 goals and won 2 Italian cups (in 2014 and 2020).
